Alyssa O’Dowd – Pastry Chef
Nicholas Markets Super Foodtown would like to welcome Alyssa O’Dowd, our new Pastry Chef. After graduating from the Baking and Pastry program at the Culinary Institute of America in 1997, Alyssa O’Dowd began working with the renowned Chef Jacques Torres at Le Cirque 2000. Once she returned to New Jersey to continue her career as head Pastry Chef at local restaurants, it wasn’t long before she started to receive recognition from the local media.
In 2009 O’Dowd was voted “Best Cookies in Bergen County” by Bergen Health and Life magazine. A few years earlier she was named one of the “Top Chef’s of Bergen County 30 and Under” by The Record newspaper.
O’Dowd’s exquisite personalized special occasion cakes, decorated cookies and chocolates found a niche with those looking for not only beautiful decorations but outstanding flavor. Her past work created a customer base that seeks her out for consistently delicious and detailed creations.
